Staghorn sumac is a hardy, fast-growing deciduous shrub or small tree native to eastern North America. It is widely recognized for its vibrant, fiery autumn colours, distinct fuzzy twigs, and cone-shaped clusters of bright red fruit. The common name comes from its thick, velvety branches, which closely resemble deer antlers "in velvet".
