One of the few deciduous conifers, native tamarack is prized for its soft texture in summer and a striking gold needle-drop display each autumn. It naturally favours boggy, low-lying ground in the wild but adapts well to average garden conditions, making it a distinctive native alternative to typical evergreen conifers.
