Habit: low-growing, rounded form, small and compact.

Stems are showy with a mixture of red to yellow throughout the winter turning to green when the leaves emerge.

Leaves are rounded to oval with deeply indented venation and turn purplish-red in the fall. 

The flowers appear in June in flat clusters with individual flowers of creamy white and small.  Berry-like fruit ripens into white.
