This rigid shrub, with arching or twisty branches, can grow up to 6 feet tall.  The remarkable antelope brush has a vast root system adapted to extract water from up to five metres underground. It is a crucial plant to the desert environment, providing an important food source for Bighorn sheep and Behrs Hairstreak butterfly (an endangered species).
