Nodding Onion

Nodding Onion

Allium cernuum

Soft, grasslike leaves and flowering stalks rise from a bulb. The  (The main axis of a plant.) stem bends so that the purple-pink flowers “nod” toward the ground. A wonderful plant for pollinators, this clumping perennial grows quickly and has a mild, oniony scent that detracts deer from nibbling it.
