Warm-season grass that prefers full sun but will tolerate partial shade. It will adapt to a variety of soil conditions and is drought-tolerant once established. It is a hardy, deep-rooted grass that spreads slowly by rhizomes. The flower panicles are a faded pink colour and can grow up to 5 ft tall. This grass is green with slightly burgundy red tips in the growing season but then turns a bright red in the fall and can be cut back in the spring to provide winter interest in your landscape.
