'Scarlet Flame' phlox are beautiful spreaders, forming carpets of low-growing, needle-shaped evergreen leaves with short-stemmed vibrant, highly saturated dark pink flowers that bloom in spring.  This species thrives in average to poor soils in full sun, and is often seen cascading from retaining walls.
