Our Hydroseeder!
Sagebrush uses a Finn T60 hydroseeder. It's a 600-gallon tank and can cover 5000-8000sf per tank depending on the steepness of the slope. It tows behind our truck and allows for better access to hard-to-reach areas than with larger hydroseeding units. Some of our contracts take us up Forest Service roads, around mine sites and lots of hard-to-reach destinations.
Why Hydroseed, is it worth it?
If seeding a relatively large area, hydroseeding can be completed in a very short period of time. It can be very effective for hillsides, sloping lawns and to help with erosion control. Hydroseeding will typically cost less than using sod for a lawn, more than broadcast seeding but with much less effort. Results are often quick. The use of fiber mulch in the mix accelerates the germinating process by maintaining moisture around the seeds thereby increasing the rate of growth.
What seeds do we carry?
We offer whatever you can imagine growing. We offer a drought-tolerant fescue blend called Eco-Lawn. What is Eco-Lawn? (wildflowerfarm.com) This blend can be kept as a traditional lawn or left to grow into a meadow appearance. Perennial flower seeds can be added to enhance this look. "Slope stabilization/ grassland restoration"
If you have a disturbed area and don't want nasty, invasive weeds to encroach and take over, we can help. Our native seed selection covers most grasses that grow in our basin deserts up to our alpine meadows. We will make a custom blend depending on where you are located in our province. Please see the list of grasses we commonly carry. If there is a species you need that isn't on our list, please let us know and we will see if our suppliers have any available. We like to make custom blends to your needs.
